Sumathi Ayyalusamy is a multi disciplinary personal with B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from University of Madras (2001) and M.Tech in Lasers and Electro Optical Engineering, from College of Engg,Guindy- Anna University (2004).
She served as Lecturer in the Dept of Electronics and Communication at TamilNadu Engineering College and awarded best Technical teacher by Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore.
From 2002-2004, she was involved with various projects undertaken by engineering students and eminent professors in the field of Instrumentation , Electro Optics and continued to teach part-time for the students of College of Engineering-Guindy, Anna University. She was associated with DRDO for Project on Muffle alignment system for T-92 Tanks. From 2003-2004 she was involved in research project of LIDAR in Space Physics Lab-(ISRO) Trivandrum.
From 2004-2007 Ms Sumathi served as a Scientist –with grade ‘SC’ in Vikram Sarabhai Space Center of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), under Dept of Space, Govt of India. She was involved in research and development of Optical sensors for Advanced Inertial Navigation Systems. During the tenure she visited all the centers of ISRO, in India.
In 2007 she was promoted to Scientist/Engineer ‘SD’ and was involved with various activities of AINS team for PSLV and Chandrayaan missions. She was in research in the area of application of fiber optics for sensing and communication of subsystems in the launch vehicles. From 2008-2009 she turned as a freelance educationalist and consultant for student community in Dubai.
