The Department offers a professional programme, designed to give the students a solid foundation of concepts and expose them to the vast industry of interior design and planning. The coursework is challenging and comprehensive and allows the students to enter the workforce with a thorough knowledge and hands-on designing experience.

The Interior design department at Manipal University, Dubai, is a modern teaching hub with design studios, up-to-date classrooms, equipped laboratories, activity centres and office stations for the head-of the department and staff, that directly support the students. The department has endeavored to set up a highly specialized product design and pottery studio that aims at offering students an opportunity to learn and master new crafts and experiment with their creative instincts in addition to a fully equipped and updated CAD laboratory, to facilitate students in their research and design processes.

In an attempt to bridge the gap between the real world and classroom-confined knowledge, the design division has always strived at grass root level to improve the quality of education offered at the institute. From demanding more design courses focused on real design problems, to developing tactical design solutions, to participating in inter-university competitions and events, to browsing and absorbing industry exhibitions and workshops, the students have been deeply involved in every stage of their overall career development. They are therefore ready to enter the industry immediately after completion of their course with high quality of skills and experience.
Positive feedback has encouraged the programme to concentrate on core areas and allowed the students to grow in different areas of design creatively.

The students have time and again displayed their works to members of external juries and other departments at the university, in a way strengthening their interpersonal and communication skills with the actual world.

The department proudly bid farewell to its first batch of graduates last year and looks forward to their attaining the highest professional excellence in their careers. Our alumni are climbing corporate rungs and pursuing post graduation in reputed International Universities and they proudly share their experiences with their beloved Alma matter.
