Facilities

Extensive studio and state-of-the-art computer lab facilities are provided for Interior Design Department students. These include studio, shop and technical facilities for work in all media, from the traditional to the most experimental. Our students benefit not only from the design studios but also from the collective research facilities of the Department. The Design Studio can be converted into an exhibition area for display of student and faculty work. The students have been provided with personalised locker facilities within the confines of the studio.

The CAD Lab includes sixty work stations and two servers integrated with AutoCAD, 3-D S Max, Maya, Photoshop and other software. Our students are trained by certified professionals in developing their design and drafting skills in the Bachelors and Certificate Programme. Our students develop complex CAD drawings to rendered presentations and design walk through animations of their Design Projects.

The Product Design Lab has been developed in tandem with the product design specialisation courses. In the third year of BAID the students choose between Business specialisation and Product design specialisation. The lab provides the students a space to explore form and basic model making techniques. It has drilling machines, table top lathes and cutting tables to facilitate the model making process.

The Pottery Studio is fully equipped with a mechanical pottery wheel, ceramic glazes and a kiln. Workshops are conducted here with specialists in this art.
