The Conference comprises three exciting competitions
Our first event is the ‘Young Scholar Award’, an academic poster presentation competition. This competition challenges students to present academic posters on psychology-related topics to a panel of judges. The best poster will be awarded the Young Scholar Award. Then, we have the Roundtable Conference on ‘Some Talk, All Talk, or No Talk: Psychology Misrepresented?’, where student delegates will participate in a moderated discussion on how psychology is represented in popular culture. Lastly, our newest addition is Dope-a-meme, a psychology meme creation competition. Here, students create memes based on the templates given to them, surrounding concepts from psychology. All entries will be posted on the PsychED Instagram page, and a winner will be selected based on the number of shares each meme receives. The school with the highest scores across all events is the overall winner. All winners across all competitions will be awarded a trophy, certificate, and a higher education scholarship.
Participation in PsychED is not restricted to psychology students alone. Any student with an interest in psychology is welcome to register.
