Our first event is the ‘Young Scholar Award,’ an academic poster presentation competition. This competition challenges students to present academic posters on psychology-related topics to a panel of judges. Students can present individually or in a group and the best poster presenter will be awarded the Young Scholar Award.
Then we have the Roundtable Conference on ‘Some Talk, All Talk, or No Talk: Psychology Misrepresented?’ where student delegates will participate in a moderated discussion on how psychology is represented in popular culture. A Best Delegate will be selected at the end of the discussion.
Lastly, as our newest addition, we have Dop-a-meme, a psychology meme creation competition. Here, students create memes based on the templates given to them surrounding concepts from psychology. All entries will be posted on the PsychED Instagram page, and a winner will be selected based on the number of likes each meme receives.
All winners receive a certificate, trophy, and a university scholarship and the school with the highest scores across all events gets awarded as the overall winner.
Participation in PsychED is not restricted to psychology students alone. Any student with an interest in psychology is welcome to register. Click here to find the registration links and guidelines for the events.
