Dr Ashok Ganapathy Iyer

Mr. Ashok Ganapathy Iyer

He is the Chairperson of the School of Design & Architecture. He also serves as the Academic Administrative Head.

His roles and responsibilities include developing and launching new programs, managing the interface between academia and industry, and creating a focus on research & development with specific emphasis on design consultancy.

He also strategizes and develops reports for accreditation bodies like the Council of Architecture (CoA) – New Delhi, India; National Institute for Advancement in Architectural Studies (NIASA) – Pune, India; NAAC – UGC, India, and UQAIB – DIAC, Dubai.

He plans and executes co-curricular activities including field trips, international study tours, and facilitates entrance examinations such as the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and Faculty & Professional Development Programs.

  • Diploma in Indian Aesthetics from the Department of Philosophy, University of Mumbai; May 2001.
  • Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch - Honors) from Pillais’ College of Architecture, University of Mumbai; April 1997.
  • Currently pursuing PhD in Architecture from the Welsh (Cardiff) School of Architecture, Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom since July 2011.
