Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai (MUDC) hosted close to a thousand students along with their parents for the Freshmen Orientation Programme, held at the University Campus in the Dubai International Academic City. The evening was aimed at sensitizing the freshers to their journey ahead, their academic and extra-curricular experiences, the challenges therein and most importantly how to overcome them and succeed. Students were introduced to their teaching faculty, university rules, programme regulations, university facilities and how to maximise learnings from the opportunities offered at the campus.

 

The evening opened with a musical performance by Manipal Dubai’s alumni signifying the University’s inseparable bond with their former students. This was followed by the story of Dr TMA Pai, the Founder of the Manipal Group, narrated by Dr GK Prabhu, Manipal India’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (Technology and Management). He apprised the audience of Dr TMA Pai’s humble beginnings, his vision, passion, and dedication that has made Manipal what it is today — celebrating seventy years in India and ten years in Dubai.

 

The evening saw many dignitaries and academic heads from Dubai as well as India address the audience. Dr Narayan Sabahit, Registrar, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India emphasized the importance of being well-rounded as an individual. Dr Raveendranath Nayak, Director, School of Management, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India shared his experiences and wisdom with the young minds for them to succeed.

 

Dr SV Kota Reddy, the Academic President, MUDC spoke about the University’s commitment towards nurturing excellence, introducing the latest pedagogic methods and offering adequate opportunities for students to perform and become the best in their field.

 

Niranjan Jayakumar, Vice President and Business Head, Manipal Education during his address to the students demanded off them to dream big, have clear goals, acquire the necessary wherewithal and most importantly work hard towards realizing their dreams. He thanked them and their parents for having chosen Manipal Academy of Higher Education in Dubai and promised that the University will walk hand in hand with every student to honor its commitment.

 

 

ACETRAC Unveiled 

Niranjan also unveiled ACETRAC, an assessment based employability enhancement programme aimed at helping students enhance their job-readiness and thereby improving their chances of being recruited by leading companies. ACETRAC is being offered for free to all first-year students. The programme employs three levels of interventions using diagnostics, review and employability assessment.
