The masterclass series is a major effort by the School of Media & Communication, MAHE Dubai, in connecting film makers- writers, actors, cinematographers, editors, and directors around the world to the audience at large. It is also aimed at creating and nurturing a community whose love for cinema knows no bounds.

 

The inaugural launch of Masterclass series is to announce our new three-year programme, B.A in Film Studies and Television Production.

 

In this week's masterclass, Shoojit Sircar will be sharing his ideas, insights, and experience from his journey as a filmmaker. During his masterclass, Shoojit will draw from various aspects of film making including story narration, developing characters, screenplay, and importantly working with actors and crew.

 

His latest film, Gulabo Sitabo, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann was released on OTT platform. His next work Sardar Udham Singh, a biopic, starring Vicky Kaushal, is in post-production.

 

Most of his works including Vicky Donor, Piku, Pink, October revolve around simple stories and real-life characters but narrated in an extraordinary way. His spy thriller Madras Cafe received notable mentions and awards for its cinematic experience as was Vicky Donor that won award for all-round entertainment.
