
MAHE Dubai is pleased to announce that Dr. Balamurugan Balusamy, Chairperson – School of Engineering & IT, has co-authored and published a research paper titled “AgriFewNet—A Lightweight RGB Few-Shot Learning Model for Efficient Plant Disease Classification” in MDPI’s Applied Sciences journal.
Applied Sciences is a Q2-ranked journal with an Impact Factor of 2.5, indexed in Scopus and SCIE (Web of Science), underscoring the quality and visibility of this publication in the global research community.
The paper presents AgriFewNet, a lightweight few-shot learning model designed to efficiently classify plant diseases from RGB images. By focusing on low-resource, high-accuracy solutions, this research contributes to the advancement of AI-driven tools in agriculture, particularly relevant for precision farming and early intervention in crop management.
This work is the result of an international collaboration between Dr. Balamurugan and faculty from top-ranked universities in Malaysia and India, reflecting MAHE Dubai’s commitment to impactful, cross-border research partnerships.
