
As part of World Environment Day 2026 celebrations, the ISHRAE UAE Sub Chapter, in association with the ISHRAE Student Chapter at Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Dubai, organised a Tree Planting Initiative on 4 June 2026 under the theme “Plant a Tree, Grow a Future.”
The initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness about the importance of preserving and expanding green spaces for future generations.
The ceremonial tree planting was carried out by Mr. Vijay Vaidyanathan, President of the ISHRAE UAE Sub Chapter, along with Dr. Rajiv Selvam, Associate Dean, School of Engineering & Information Technology, MAHE Dubai. Their participation reflected the shared commitment of both professional and academic communities to environmental conservation and sustainable action.

The event was attended by ISHRAE UAE Sub Chapter office bearers, including Mr. Unnikrishnan S. P., Mr. Akash Dave, Mr. Subir Sinha, and Dr. Pramod George, Faculty Coordinator of the ISHRAE Student Chapter, MAHE Dubai.
Students from the ISHRAE Student Chapter also actively participated in the initiative, including Mr. Yaswant R., Student Chapter President, along with Tharun G. K., Sebastian Ajit, and Naman Shah.
The initiative served as a meaningful reminder of the collective responsibility to protect the environment and contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. The event concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to environmental stewardship through continued sustainable practices and community engagement.
Through initiatives such as this, MAHE Dubai continues to encourage student participation in sustainability-focused activities and community-driven environmental action.
