MAHE Dubai is delighted to announce that “Incognito”, a final-year student team from the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering program, has secured First Place at the BITS “Ready Player One” Hackathon held in November 2025.
The hackathon challenged participants to build AI agents using platforms such as N8N or Langflow, working with open-source models like Ollama, and critically, without relying on API keys. The domain for the competition was Biometrics, the problem focus was Optimization, and the wildcard twist was:
“The AI treats your jokes, exaggerations, and metaphors as literal truths.”
Within this demanding and creative framework, Team Incognito developed an innovative solution titled “SecurePass” – an AI-powered airport security system.
About the Winning Project – SecurePass
SecurePass is designed as a next-generation airport security screening system that integrates biometrics, conversational AI and intelligent response analysis.
Key features of the solution include:
Biometric Capture: The system collects passenger biometrics such as facial data and fingerprints.
AI-Driven Security Interview: Passengers undergo an AI-conducted security interview that goes beyond simple yes/no questioning.
Detection of Indirect or “Joking” Responses: In line with the hackathon’s wildcard theme, SecurePass is built to identify joking, evasive or exaggerated responses that may be misinterpreted as literal truth by AI systems.
Flagging for Secondary Screening: Any responses that appear indirect, ambiguous or concerning are intelligently flagged for secondary screening, enabling human officers to review and intervene where necessary.
The goal of SecurePass is to create a more streamlined, efficient and unbiased security process that:
Reduces airport congestion and passenger wait times
Improves the accuracy and consistency of security checks
Minimises misinterpretation of humour or sarcasm in high-stakes environments
By combining biometric verification with conversational AI and contextual understanding, the solution demonstrates how responsible AI can enhance both security and passenger experience.
The Winning Team
Team “Incognito” comprises the following final-year B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering students:
Syed Ahmed
Abhay Kamath
Dhruv Bajpai
Mohammad Owais Chaudhary
Their performance at the BITS “Ready Player One” Hackathon highlights the technical depth, creativity and problem-solving ability of MAHE Dubai’s engineering students, as well as the School of Engineering & IT’s focus on industry-relevant, future-ready skills in AI and automation.
MAHE Dubai congratulates Team Incognito on this outstanding achievement and applauds the faculty and mentors who continue to support students in exploring real-world challenges through innovation and applied technology.
