MAHE Dubai is proud to share that students from the School of Engineering and IT participated in the Etihad Rail Hackathon 2025 and secured Second Place in the competition. The hackathon brought together some of the most promising young innovators from across the UAE, creating a high-energy environment for problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world innovation.
A Highly Competitive National Platform
The hackathon attracted over 300 registrations, with only 50 participants shortlisted for the final round. From MAHE Dubai, around 80 students registered internally, and three students were shortlisted by the organizers to compete in the finals:
Mahek Bhavinkumar Panchal – Year 4, BTech CSE
Nidhi Himanshu Mehta – Year 3, BTech CSE
Rafa Riyaz Khalife – Year 2, BTech CSE
Competing Alongside Leading Universities Across the UAE
In the finals, MAHE Dubai students collaborated with peers from other universities to form a team of eight. Participants from institutions such as Abu Dhabi University, Khalifa University, BITS Pilani, Amity University, and others also took part, making the competition both challenging and inspiring.
The Challenge: Enhancing Passenger Experience at Stations
The hackathon challenge focused on developing innovative solutions to enhance Passenger Experience at Stations. Through intensive brainstorming, teamwork, and mentor guidance, the team developed a solution that was both creative and practical - earning strong recognition from the jury and securing Second Place.
Congratulations and Appreciation
We congratulate our students and the Computer Science Engineering faculty members for supporting and guiding this achievement. We also extend our appreciation to Ms. Iffah Konian (BSc ISM – Final Year) for coordinating student registrations and providing continuous support throughout the event.
