Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Dubai has launched NEXORA, a next-generation Artificial Intelligence lab designed to equip students with applied, real-world AI capabilities. The launch comes at a time when artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping industries, economies, and education systems, with the UAE strengthening its position as a global AI hub.
NEXORA has been developed as an integrated AI learning environment where students can move from ideation to development and deployment within a single platform. The lab is structured across dedicated zones for ideation, learning, development, and experience, enabling students to conceptualise solutions, build prototypes, test applications, and demonstrate outcomes in real-world scenarios.
The launch also featured demonstrations of AI applications developed by MAHE Dubai students. These included interactive virtual avatars for visitor engagement, real-time facial recognition systems on edge devices, intelligent retail inventory solutions, sentiment analysis kiosks, voice-based biometric systems, and interactive learning platforms.
The lab is supported by advanced infrastructure, including high-performance computing systems, edge AI platforms, cloud-integrated environments, and industry-standard tools and frameworks. MAHE Dubai also plans to introduce a dedicated quantum computing terminal to support exploration in next-generation computing and the convergence of AI and quantum technologies.
Designed as a cross-disciplinary initiative, NEXORA will extend beyond engineering and IT to support learning, research, and innovation across management, health sciences, media, and other academic domains. The lab is expected to strengthen faculty-led projects, industry collaborations, specialised training programmes, and applied research opportunities.
With the launch of NEXORA, MAHE Dubai further strengthens its contribution to the UAE’s innovation and talent ecosystem. The initiative reflects the university’s commitment to preparing students with practical AI skills, future-ready capabilities, and the confidence to navigate and shape an AI-driven world.
