RTEX is a hodgepodge where every type of Robotics and Automation based companies, to come and exhibit their innovations, products, software etc. to the general enthusiastic public. It is also home to eco-friendly companies and Governmental organisations.

RTEX 2015 was organised for three days 29th September to 1st October, 2015. RTEX is the only exhibition of its kind in UAE. Shifting its focus from more consumer based products that are usually displayed at GITEX, RTEX focuses more on robotics and its derivatives. This is especially good for students of the Electrical/Electronics and Mechatronics disciplines, as this would be an opportunity for them to witness and experience what they have read or studied about in their classes.

The event was inaugurated by H.E. Eng. Essa Al Maidoor who is the President of The Society of Engineers-UAE (2010 and running) and is also the holder of numerous other distinguishable positions.

In the Manipal University stall, the students exhibited their projects which attracted visitors both from academia and industries. Some of students’ projects exhibited include 3D Printer, M-Sense (moisture sense), DIY (do-it-yourself) Project Kits, Hexacopter, Baby Robo, Spider Robo and Hand Gesture Car. Manipal University students Arjun Mini and Srinivas Karthikeyan explain their projects to the guest.

During these three days’ time all the students from first semester engineering and all higher semester students of Electronics & Communication and Mechatronics visited the exhibition to witness the biggest robotics exhibition in the region. Few students from School of Engineering and IT also had a chance to be part of the organizing team and volunteer the event for three days.
