Led by the Manipal Institute of Health & Life Sciences, the initiative encouraged students to contribute towards food security and community well-being, reflecting the UAE's Year of Family 2026.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Dubai marked World Food Day 2026 with a food donation drive organised by the Manipal Institute of Health & Life Sciences (MIHLS) in collaboration with the UAE Food Bank. The initiative brought students together to support communities in need while raising awareness about food security, responsible consumption and the importance of giving back to society.
As part of the initiative, students contributed essential non-perishable food items, including rice, pulses, pasta, noodles, canned products, cereals, flour, biscuits, cooking oils and other everyday food essentials. The donations aimed to support the UAE Food Bank's efforts to make food available to those in need.
Aligned with the UAE's Year of Family 2026, the initiative highlighted the values of compassion, generosity and collective responsibility. By encouraging students to participate in a community-focused activity, MAHE Dubai reinforced the importance of supporting one another and building a more caring and inclusive society.
The initiative also reflected the significance of World Food Day, observed globally on 16 October, in promoting awareness about hunger, food security and sustainable food systems.
Through this collaboration, MAHE Dubai continues to encourage students to look beyond the classroom and actively contribute to initiatives that create a positive social impact.
Led by MIHLS, the food donation drive demonstrated how universities can contribute to community well-being by encouraging students to participate in meaningful social initiatives.
The collaboration with the UAE Food Bank further reflects MAHE Dubai's commitment to community engagement, sustainability and nurturing socially responsible graduates who recognise the importance of making a difference.
By bringing students together for a shared cause, MAHE Dubai's World Food Day celebration reinforced a simple message: small acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
