After a colossal success of our first international conference MUDERC - 2017, we take great pleasure in inviting you for MUDERC - 2018. School of Business, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai is overwhelmed to share with you that the MUDERC 2017 witnessed 34 paper presentations and 150 entrepreneurial scholars from 7 different nations. The second conference - 2018 has been planned with much more enthusiasm to focus on exploring divergent and interdisciplinary perspectives of Entrepreneurship.

We invite all concerned to submit their Research Papers for the 2nd Annual Manipal University Dubai Entrepreneurship Research Conference (MUDERC) - 2018. All necessary information regarding the submission of papers and the procedures therewith are given in the tabs beside. Registration Fees
At least one registration per paper is mandatory. Each paid registration covers one person’s attendance to the conference that includes tea/coffee and lunch. Please note that registration cost does not include lodging, boarding and conveyance.

You are invited to submit either an abstract or a complete paper which will be peer reviewed. Please include author title (such as Mr, Ms, Dr), the name of author(s) and affiliation of the corresponding author and email address in the paper itself. Please send either full paper or abstract to email id: manipalerc@gmail.com. Please read the Abstract Submission Guidelines given below before your submission.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- All Abstracts must be submitted in English.
- Abstracts must be approximately 900 words.
- The abstract should clearly state the:
- Title
- Principal Topic (at least 100 words and no more than 500 words)
- Method (or “Key Propositions” for conceptual papers) (at least 100 words and no more than 300 words)
- Results and Implications (at least 100 words and no more than 300 words)
- Abstracts must be text only and there is no need to list the references even if in-text references are used (having a couple of key in-text references may be appropriate). Pictures or graphs should not be submitted.
- Paper should be 15 pages, including all tables, figures, notes, and references.
- Use Times New Roman 12-point font, double spaced, with 1-inch (2.5cm) margins all around for the text, including headers and footnotes.
- Authors are requested to follow APA style.
Accepted abstracts/ papers will have to be presented on the Conference date by the authors. Each paper presentation lasts roughly 20 minutes with 15 minutes for the presentation of the paper and 5 minutes for Q&A. Papers accepted for competitive sessions must prepare a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation.

Best Paper Award
The Best Paper Award will be given for two papers with a cash prize of AED 500. Announcement of the same will be made on the last day of the conference. In addition, these authors will also be receiving a certificate from the above mentioned journals as part of appreciation for their efforts. Certificates will also be issued to the authors who would present their papers in the conference.
Conference Proceedings
All the accepted full papers would be included in the conference proceedings and the hardcopy of the same would be provided on the day of the conference to all those who register for the conference.
NOTE: Interested participants can take part in Gala Event with Dinner by paying $50.

Keynote Speaker
Prof. Saras Saraswathy
Paul Hammaker Professor of Entrepreneurship
University of Virginia's Darden School of Business
She received her PhD from Carnegie Mellon University – Tepper School of Business. Her research involves developing the theory of effectuation through in-depth studies of entrepreneurial decision making and exploring its connections with value creation, new venture performance, and the philosophy of pragmatism.This pioneering theory posits an alternative to the classic paradigm of rational choice and is being developed and tested by several scholars whose published and working papers are available at www.effectuation.org.
The primary outline of the theory was published in the Academy of Management Review under the title, Causation and Effectuation: Towards a Theoretical Shift from Economic Inevitability to Entrepreneurial Contingency, and further developments were published in the Journal of Economic Psychology, The Handbook of Strategic Management, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice.
Before joining academia, Ms Sarasvathy founded and operated several businesses. One of these was a successful Indian company that manufactured plastic blow-molded and injection-molded products such as lubricant oil containers and gift articles. She earned a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also received a master’s degree in information systems and the MSIA (MBA equivalent) with a concentration in entrepreneurship and finance. Her bachelor’s degree with a major in statistics is from the University of Bombay.
